Senior DevSecOps Engineer
Job Description
Merlin System Solutions is seeking a highly motivated Senior DevSecOps Engineer to join our dynamic, mission-oriented team supporting federal agency clients. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines in coordination with development and security teams.
In this role, you will own the application Build & Release process including code compilation, packaging, security scanning, code quality scanning, deployment methodology, and application configurations. You will work closely with development teams and should have strong experience with popular programming languages like Java, JavaScript, Groovy, or Python.
You will interface with internal cloud provisioning teams and commercial cloud providers to ensure secure, reliable, and scalable infrastructure for our mission-critical applications.
Required Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II compliant (e.g., current CompTIA Security+ certification)
- BS in Computer Science or related field with 7+ years of relevant experience
- Experience designing and deploying artifacts and applications in enterprise environments
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, or ArgoCD
- Familiarity with one or more cloud platforms: AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, or Google Cloud
- Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity controls, scans, and remediation of findings
- Strong customer service skills and ability to collaborate within cross-functional teams
Desired Qualifications
- Kubernetes design, deployment, operations, and sustainment experience
- Red Hat OpenShift administration experience
- Understanding of programming languages such as Java, Python, Go, or Ruby
- Knowledge of risk assessment and threat modeling techniques
- Experience with project management tools (Atlassian Suite, GitLab, GitHub)
- Experience with infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation)
- Cloud monitoring tools experience (AWS CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Prometheus/Grafana)
- Container security scanning (Anchore, Trivy, Snyk)
- Experience preparing technical documentation and system security plans
- GitOps methodology and ArgoCD experience
